ABOUT
Safe and Sound Academy is a Nursery, Pre-primary, Primary school.
It is situated in the center of Quatre-Bornes.
It officially opened since December 1998 and in 2014 it has been re-branded as Safe and Sound Academy.
The school welcomes boys and girls from 3 months to 12 years old.
Safe and Sound Academy seeks to provide an open, warm and caring environment to maximize each child potential.
Our Educational institution is bilingual ( fluent in English and French.)
Teachings is in English, using French only when understanding is not being achieved.
We believe that your children will develop into confident, independent and cooperative individuals with all skills, concepts and attitudes necessary to achieve success in later life and we also believe that children learn best by doing and therefore, we will provide practical, relevant and first hand experiences whenever possible.

Our Staff work together as a team in all aspects of school life using a range of teachings strategies depending on the task to be learned.
This involves a balance of whole class teaching, group work and individual work.
Most subject are taught through mixed ability group which may be varied according to the pupil's learning needs

School Meals
Nutritious school meals are cooked on the premises.
The children receive a light snack at break times and a main course and a dessert at lunch time.Water is provided.
All meals are consumed in the dining area provided.
Medical Services
All children receive at least one medical examination in school annually.

School Uniform
All children of the Pre-primary and Primary are required to wear a school uniform.
It is attractive, practical and develops a sense of belonging.
Moral Education
This includes religious and multi-cultural education, equal opportunities, and personal and social education.
We held a daily act of worship during which the aim is to encourage the development of personal beliefs, relationships, creativity, feelings,emotions and responsibility through a variety of methods
Illness during school hours
If children are ill at school, parents are contacted by telephone and children are care for until their parents arrive to take them home.
Minor cuts and grazes are treated by a first aider, and all accidents requiring treatment are recorded in an accident book.
In an emergency, school staff may be required to accompany a child to clinic and act 'in loco parentis' until the parents arrives.

Communication to Parents
At Safe and sound we believe that parents are our parteners in the education of their children.
We seek to involve you in school life through the publication of Newsletters, helping in school activities, inviting you to shows, concerts and other events and by conferencing with you
After School Care
An after school club operates from the end of the school day, until 5 pm.
The club offers the following facilities according to interest.

These are reviewed annually to meet the interests of the children.

Security and Fire Safety at school
Access is only through the main entrance. A caretaker is on duty during working hours. The other doors are locked and there are always teachers and caretakers in the yard during break times and lunch.
All school personnel receive training in fire evacuation techniques and this is practice with the children a minimum of once term.
